Founded in 2022 by AI veterans Silviu Homoceanu and Max Fischer, Deltia.ai is making significant strides in optimising assembly line operations. The company utilizes NVIDIA Metropolis vision AI running on NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin modules to measure and enhance manufacturing processes, providing what they call "the Google Analytics of manufacturing."

Silviu Homoceanu, Deltia's CTO, explained their approach: "We install these sensors, and two weeks later they get the keys to this dashboard, and the magic happens in the background." This system allows for rapid deployment and immediate insights for manufacturers.

The startup's impressive client roster includes Viessman, a heat pump manufacturer, and industrial electronics giant ABB. Viessman, currently implementing Deltia's solution across 15 stations, anticipates expanding its use. Once fully integrated, Viessman projects a potential 50% increase in overall productivity.

Deltia's AI-powered platform captures crucial assembly line data to train models using NVIDIA-accelerated computing. These models, deployed on Jetson AGX Orin modules at the edge, continuously monitor camera streams and extract metadata. This information pinpoints exact timings of product movements through various stations, enabling line managers to identify bottlenecks and optimise output.

"TensorRT helps us compress complex AI models to a level where we can serve, in an economical fashion, multiple stations with a single Jetson device," Homoceanu noted, highlighting the efficiency of their solution.

Beyond immediate optimisations, Deltia's analytics provide hour-by-hour visualisations of production flows. The system can send rapid alerts when production deviates from predicted targets and tracks critical key performance indicators continuously. It also assists in mapping process flows throughout factory floors, suggesting improvements for layouts and worker routes.

In one instance, a Deltia customer identified that materials shelves were too far from workers, causing unnecessarily long cycle times. After repositioning the shelves based on Deltia's insights, production increased by over 30%.

The platform's applications extend to predictive maintenance, helping monitor machine states at a granular level to forecast when parts need replacement. Additionally, it can suggest optimisations for energy usage, potentially reducing operational and maintenance costs.

Max Fischer, CEO of Deltia.ai, expressed the company's vision: "Our vision is to empower manufacturers with the tools to achieve unprecedented efficiency. Seeing our customers experience as much as a 30% increase in productivity with our vision models running on NVIDIA Jetson Orin validates the transformative potential of our technology."

Deltia's innovative approach has earned it a place in the NVIDIA Inception program for cutting-edge startups, further solidifying its position at the forefront of AI-driven manufacturing optimisation.
