Mila, the world's largest academic research centre for deep learning, has announced a strategic partnership with Iter Innovandi, an AI services startup, to accelerate AI adoption among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The collaboration, revealed on August 13, aims to enhance business automation and AI implementation across various sectors.
The partnership will give Iter Innovandi access to Mila's extensive network of experts and world-class researchers, enabling the startup to optimise its projects and deliver superior AI-driven solutions. Their initial focus will be on the construction industry, a key sector of the Quebec and Canadian economy.
Rari Fanca, CEO of Iter Innovandi, emphasised the significance of the partnership: "By combining our focus on customer needs with Mila's renowned research capabilities, we are well-positioned to deliver powerful AI solutions that will transform business operations."
Stéphane Létourneau, Executive Vice-President of Mila, highlighted the importance of the collaboration's focus: "Facilitating the adoption of AI in the construction sector is an important task. Mila is pleased to welcome Iter Innovandi and begin this relationship with this focus."
Founded by Professor Yoshua Bengio of the University of Montreal, Mila brings together over 1,200 specialised researchers in machine learning. The institute is partially funded by the Government of Canada through the Pan-Canadian AI Strategy.
This partnership represents a significant step towards making advanced AI technologies more accessible to SMEs, potentially driving economic growth and innovation across Canada.
