NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang predicted a future where AI assistants become ubiquitous in the workplace during his appearance at the SIGGRAPH 2024 conference on July 29, 2024.

In a conversation with WIRED's Lauren Goode, Huang stated, "Everybody will have an AI assistant. Every single company, every single job within the company, will have AI assistance." He emphasised how generative AI, rooted in visual computing, is set to amplify human creativity.

Huang also highlighted the energy efficiency benefits of accelerated computing, the technology underpinning AI advancements. "Accelerated computing helps you save so much energy, 20 times, 50 times, and doing the same processing," he explained, stressing the importance of accelerating applications to reduce global energy consumption.

Huang explored how visual computing has led to advancements in computer games, digital animation, and now generative AI. He predicted widespread industry transformation, from scientific computing to robotics and self-driving cars.

Looking ahead, Huang introduced the concept of digital agents, AI-powered assistants designed to augment various job roles, particularly in customer service. He envisions a future where human interaction is enhanced by AI, stating, "In the future, my guess is that it's going to be human still, but AI in the loop."

As these technologies converge, Huang believes they will significantly boost human productivity and creativity across industries, opening new possibilities for storytelling and innovation.
