OpenAI have announced the opening of its first continental European office in Paris.

According to the company's announcement, "France is renowned worldwide for its innovation and leadership in technology and AI. We're excited to become part of its thriving ecosystem," said Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI.

Notable partnerships for OpenAI in France include:

  • Sanofi's launch of Muse, an AI tool for accelerating patient recruitment in clinical trials
  • Simplon's role as the first European partner in the OpenAI Academy program
  • Mirakl's use of AI to enhance marketplace seller growth
  • ESCP Business School's implementation of AI for personalised learning
  • Ask Mona's cultural initiatives using AI for audience engagement

In the announcement, Frédéric Bardeau, President and Co-Founder of Simplon, stated: "We are thrilled to partner with OpenAI and ChatGPT to bring generative AI superpowers to underserved and underrepresented communities."

According to the announcement, Clara Chappaz, Secretary of State for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs, noted, "The opening of OpenAI's Paris office testifies to the attractiveness of France and the quality of our talent and researchers."
