NVIDIA has unveiled AI Aerial, a comprehensive platform designed to optimise wireless networks and enable new generative AI experiences on a single infrastructure.

The AI Aerial suite includes accelerated computing software and hardware for designing, simulating, training, and deploying AI radio access network technology (AI-RAN) for wireless networks in the AI era.

The platform aims to support telecommunications providers in their transformation beyond traditional voice and data services, enabling them to serve next-generation needs in mobile, robotics, autonomous vehicles, smart factories, and 5G/6G technologies.

To accelerate the commercialisation of AI-RAN, NVIDIA is collaborating with T-Mobile, Ericsson, and Nokia to establish the AI-RAN Innovation Centre. Tommi Uitto, president of Mobile Networks at Nokia, stated, "AI-RAN is set to revolutionise the telecom industry, and the opening of the AI-RAN Innovation Centre will help to take us on this journey by driving industry collaboration."

The ecosystem surrounding NVIDIA AI Aerial is expanding, with key partners including Softbank, Fujitsu, Ansys, Keysight, and various academic institutions collaborating on 6G research. Cloud stack software providers, networking stack providers, and edge solution providers are also joining the ecosystem to accelerate AI solution deployment in the telecommunications sector.
